CS Freeland
Executive Director, Texas Venture Alliance & Texas Venture Newsletter Editor
For 15 years CS Freeland has worked in highly innovative and multi-disciplinary roles mostly in downtown Austin. The majority of last decade she worked at what was Austin’s first venture studio, then later a startup accelerator and an angel investor network. Recently she cofounded a local and then state trade association that amplifies the ecosystem of entrepreneur support, the Texas Venture Alliance. It’s now the largest innovation network in the state and the only one listed in the Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s five year state economic development plan, “Bigger. Better. Texas.”
Texas Venture Alliance launched Texas’ sister signature events: the largest venture-focused 3,000+ person and 20+ co-hosted venue simultaneous experience called the Texas Venture Fest, as well as the Texas Venture Gala & Forum, a high-powered and high-end evening with awards and networking spotlighting Texas Excellence. She is also editor of the Texas Venture Newsletter with 10,000+ readers.
Outside of startups & venture, she’s actively involved as a US Chamber of Commerce Fellow, and at the Texas Association of Business (the Texas State Chamber of Commerce). She has been a member of the American Association of Political Consultants for two years, and has produced several multi-award winning campaigns for Texas mayors and state legislators.
